This is a playful-pedagogical socialization program for children and mothers hospitalized in Pediatric Wards, or other child support institutions.

The program aims to improve the care of hospitalized children and adolescents, within a humanist vision in which the patient is seen as an integral being, who goes beyond the physical body, seeking to meet their physical, psychological and social needs, facilitating the hospitalization and treatment process and, at the same time, provide a welcoming environment for the children, promoting the continuity of the learning rhythm.

SOLIDARITY SCHOOL

Solidarity School is a literacy program (Spelling and Reading) for children from 1st to 8th grades from public education, residing in the outskirts of Maputo city.

The program aims to ensure the improvement of spelling and reading for children in public primary education while promoting writing and speaking, the school seeks to balance their nutritional condition, offering nutritious food and promoting primary health care. This is also an occupational space, providing recreational and socio-pedagogical moments through games and other games, rescuing traditional family and community values.

SOLIDARITY SOUP

Solidarity Soup is a strategy to build an alternative basic social service for the insertion and training (personal and professional) of individuals in extreme poverty, in a context of social exclusion, simultaneously promoting awareness-raising actions on the drama of malnutrition and chronic malnutrition of a large part of the Mozambican population. It also seeks to mobilize support for accessing and improving the quality of education and health in our country.

SCHOOL LUNCH BOX

The solidarity lunch box or just school lunch is another Makobo initiative. Companies and individuals contribute financially so that children in school receive a nutritious meal a day. For many children, this is the only reason to continue with their studies and school lunch goes even further, the parents and educators of each child who receives the school lunch commit to planting at least one fruit tree, one for shade, and a vegetable patch.

SOLIDARITY BAKERY

The Makobo platform's mission goes far beyond meeting basic needs, Makobo seeks economic sustainability and social equity, two other pillars of its approach. AGROECOLOGY ACADEMY

The Agro-ecology academy, a project focused on nutrition and economic sustainability has already trained 120 families in the production of vegetables, flowers, and planting trees without using pesticides, part of these products cultivated by these families were used in the production of solidarity soups, which is where it all started.

SOLIDARITY HEART - BEIRA - IDAI CYCLONE

On March 15, 2019, Sofala Province was hit by the biggest Cyclone in the history of the Southern Hemisphere.

Cyclone IDAI destroyed houses, hospitals, warehouses, schools, kindergartens, shelters, markets, roads, bridges. But above all Cyclone IDAI destroyed dreams and projects, killed hundreds of people, displaced thousands of families, and devastated agricultural plantations.

The MAKOBO PLATFORM, through the SOLIDARITY HEART movement and in conjunction with other local and international partners, has mobilized since the moment to support the coordination of kitchens and logistics at WORLD CENTRAL KITCHEN, which provided food support to 13,000 people sheltered in the camps of the National Institute of Disaster Management – ​​INGC.

SOLIDARITY HEART-MAPUTO-COVID-19 INTERVENTION

The SOLIDARITY HEART – COVID 19 INTERVENTION initiative in Maputo aimed to provide food support to 2000 people in Maputo City and Province, and, in parallel, to promote training in sewing and sewing for women living in needy communities to, in a first phase, produce protective masks against COVID-19, and Integrating street youth, trained under the Solidarity Bakery initiative, in the production of bread for the Solidarity Soup and Solidarity Lunchbox initiatives | The School Lunch. By the end of July 2020, this initiative had benefited more than 2500 people in various neighborhoods of the City and Province of Maputo. Currently, this initiative benefits 2099 people, in deprived neighborhoods where the economic impact of COVID19 is still felt, namely: Costa do Sol (150 children), Hulene B (1000 people), Massaca (569 people), Michafutene (100 people) , Polana Caniço (50 Children), Pussulane (50 Children).

CORAÇÃO SOLIDÁRIO- CABO DELGADO | 2020

KAYA- UMA CASA PARA TODOS

The KAYA Project is an update of the solidarity soup that combines the three pillars of Makobo's mission, KAYA includes a large solidarity cafeteria that will be built in a space provided by the company MPDC. In this space, as people will find healthy meals and, however, these people should be willing to be an active part of the solution, these benefits will be exchanged for hours of service and training hours as women are one of the main groups that KAYA intends to support through short training programs that will create an opportunity for the beneficiaries of the space to learn skills that will give them income and expand their horizons.

BLACK & WHITE

The Co-manager of Jardim Municipal Nangade (Former Garden Dona Berta), on Av. Vladimir Lenine, in Maputo, in partnership with MAKOBO, debuts the concept The BLACK & WHITE by MAKOBO, thinking, as always, of boosting the economy and local content, and the impact of social entrepreneurship, as a way to promote more economic and social development, inclusion and sustainability in Mozambique. These are TWO DIFFERENT COMMERCIAL SPACES, united by the same ideal… MOZAMBIQUE.

The WHITE Space is completely white, neutral. It is a “POP-UP STORE”, which will be available to Mozambican entrepreneurs who want to divulge, exhibit, propose, promote their environmentally sustainable ideas, projects and products; Space BLACK is black. The walls are slate black, to allow space users to use them to write and draw their wishes, dreams and visions about Mozambique.
