Solidarity School

Literacy program (Spelling and Reading) for children from 1st to 8th grades of public education, residing in the outskirts of Maputo city.

Objective:

Improve the spelling and reading of children in public primary education. While promoting writing and speaking skills, the school seeks to balance their nutritional status, offering nutritious food and promoting primary health care.

This is also an occupational space, that provides playful and socio-pedagogical moments through games and other games, rescuing traditional family and community values.

Location: 

Fisherman's Quarter, Costa do Sol
– Maputo.

Schedule:

Tuesdays and Thursdays
Mornings: from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.
Afternoons: from 14:00 to 16:00.

Playful-pedagogical socialization program for children and mothers hospitalized in Pediatric Infirmaries, or other child support institutions.

Objective:

Improve the care of hospitalized children and adolescents, within a humanist vision in which the patient is seen as an integral being, which goes beyond the physical body, seeking to assist
to their physical, psychological and social needs, facilitating the hospitalization and treatment process and, simultaneously, providing a welcoming environment for children, promoting the continuity of the pace of learning and alleviating

the “stress” of hospitalization of their mothers or companions. Basically, it consists of weekly sessions of recreational and educational activities to share information for the well-being of children and their mothers, through fun and socializing.

The Program Sessions include:

Tale Reading; Animation;
Interaction Games; Plastic expression;

Location:

Disease ward
General (Hemato-Oncology)
– Maputo Central Hospital.

Schedule:

From Monday to Friday,
From 10:30 to 11:30.

SOLIDARITY PLAYGROUND

A recreational and educational space, itinerant, for fun and socio-pedagogical integration of needy children. Mainly for the social inclusion of children living on and on the street.

Objective:

Create conditions for socialization among children, while promoting access to recreational and educational equipment and materials with a view to promoting literacy and artistic expression for disadvantaged children, in a context of social exclusion.

Location:

Parks, gardens and others
public and community spaces.

Schedule:

Wednesdays and Saturdays 9:30 am to 11:00 am
